Who may attend?
Anyone who loves Carnivorous Plants! Just one catch...you must currently be a member of, or plan to become a member of the New England Carnivorous Plant Society. You may join prior to the meeting or sign up and pay your dues at the meeting. Dues: $20/Individuals, $25/Family, $10/Students of any age. 8:30-9:30 am - Meet at our Store. (Optional) We will be gathering at our store located at 370 Avenue A, Turners Falls, Massachusetts at around 9 am. Everyone should try to be here by 9:30 am at the latest, so we can distribute maps to our destinations. (Our store will be open at 8:30 am for any early birds who would like to see or shop the store.) Click here to see a map.

10:00 am - Field Trip to Hawley Bog (Optional) See carnivorous plants and orchids in their natural habitat floating on a 30 foot thick bed of sphagnum peat! We will leave the store at 10 am sharp via car pool to the Hawley Bog Preserve. The drive will be approximately 45 minutes each way. Details about the bog can be found here but you may wish to bring along insect repellant, old shoes (if the trail is muddy), and binoculars or a camera. We plan to spend about an hour to hour and a half at this site and should head back by about 12:15. Please note: This field trip may be cancelled in the case of medium to heavy rain. (Lets hope for good weather!)

REMEMBER! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COLLECTING OF PLANT MATERIAL OF ANY KIND. Bring home only your photos and fond memories!

1:00 pm - Cookout & Sale at our Greenhouses. Our greenhouses are not located at our store. They are located in the back yard of our home a few minutes away and are not typically open to the public. They are relatively small (on a commercial scale) but they are packed with all kinds of carnivorous and other exotic tropical plants as well as our private collections. We will be offering free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, & soft drinks for lunch as well as opening our greenhouses for viewing. The NECPS will be conducting any Society business while providing a great opportunity for socializing with other members. We will sponsor a benefit raffle to help raise funds for the society. As an added bonus, we will be offering carnivorous plants for sale at 20% off our regular prices to paid society members. This sale will include our regular sale stock and will be limited to current availability. Note: In fairness to all members, we will not be able to "hold" or "pre-sell" any of the discounted plants.
