IMPORTANT WINTER/SUMMER DELIVERY INFORMATION
It is very important to have your packages
delivered to an address where someone will
be available to receive them physically from
the carrier upon the first delivery attempt.
Even short exposures to cold or hot temperatures
(beyond 40-90 for plants and insects, beyond
60-85 for frogs) can have disastrous effects
on live items. Any packages that are indicated
as being left on a porch or other outdoor
area via the UPS tracking system will not be covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee.
We want our items to arrive in good condition
just as much as you do so please assist us
by choosing an appropriate delivery address.
Having a signature required upon delivery
is an option available for an additional
$1.50 and can be requested via phone or e-mail
right after placing your order. Our live
and healthy guarantee will not be valid beyond
the first delivery attempt.

Processing and Delivery Time
We process all orders in the order they were
received with the occassional exception of
"Rush Service" orders or large
orders requiring special attention.
On average, orders are processed within 1-5
business days after receiving them. (A business
day is Monday - Friday excluding holidays)
During periods of heavy workload, inclement
weather, holidays, or during shows, etc.,
orders may take additional time for processing.
Plants & fruit flies are shipped Mon.-Wed.
Frogs are generally shipped Tues.-Wed. but
must be confirmed by calling us at 800-268-1813.
Dry goods may be shipped any day of the week
without restrictions.
After processing, plants will be shipped
via UPS 2nd Day Air. Most drygoods will be
shipped separately, via UPS Ground. Shipping
time for ground services may take from 1-6
business days for delivery, depending on
your zip code. Upon shipment, you will receive
an email with the tracking information letting
you know exacty when to expect your order
to arrive.
If you selected "Check" as your
method of payment, please send us payment
right away to the address listed on our Home
Page. Orders paid with money orders will
be processed right away, while personal checks
may require a "hold" period of
1-2 weeks to allow the check to clear. If
you have any other questions, please feel
free to send an email or call us at 800-268-1813.
IMPORTANT CONTACT INFORMATION
When placing your order, please provide a
DAYTIME telephone number that we may use to reach
you. The main reasons that we may need to
call is regarding substitution of out of
stock items or to clarify delivery information.
Both of these are very time sensitive issues
that will often result in delays of shipping
if we cannot reach you during normal business
hours. We never sell or use any information you provide
to us for any reason other than in the processing
of your order.
Rush Service
Rush Service is generally any service which
will take precident over any of our standard
service times (Generally same or next day
service). Rush service may not be available
at all times and will be granted at our discretion.
A minimum "Rush Charge" of $10
will apply on all rush service requests.
Please allow sufficient lead time when placing
orders for time sensitive items such as fruit
flies, etc. to avoid these additional fees.

Seasonal Availability
Some of our items are only available seasonally.
If any items on your order are not available,
we will either backorder those items or drop
them from the order.
Out of Stock Products
Certain plants, animals or other products
may be of limited supply and are occasionally
out of stock. We may either backorder those
items for shipment as soon as they arrive
or delete them if the expected arrival time
is uncertain or delayed for long periods.
Weather & Geographic Limitations
Plants and insects are shipped via UPS 2nd
Day Air which provides very safe movement
of plants under controlled environmental
conditions. We ship most plants year round
as long as someone is home to receive them
from the carrier. Before being delivered
by the carrier, however, the purchaser must
make arrangements to assume immediate care
for the plants. This means that you may wish
to have your package delivered to your place
of work, to a friend or relative who will
be home. The package must not be delivered
to a location where, when left by the carrier,
will be exposed to hot or cold temperature
extremes! Please make these arrangements
when you order to anticipate inclement weather
conditions and safe arrival of your plants.
Orders placed under unfavorable weather conditions
are at the risk of the purchaser. Any packages
that are indicated as being left on a porch
or other outdoor area via the UPS tracking
system will not be covered under our Live
Arrival Guarantee. We want our items to arrive
in good condition just as much as you do
so please assist us by choosing an appropriate
delivery address. Having a signature required
upon delivery is an option available for
an additional $1.50 and can be requested
via phone or e-mail right after placing your
order. Our live and healthy guarantee will
not be valid beyond the first delivery attempt.

Order Cancellation
Any order placed with a credit card that
has been processed but not yet shipped may
be cancelled, however a 3% or $5 minimum
service charge will apply to cover administrative
and credit card charge-back costs.
Return & Claim Policy
Since we have no control over the growing
conditions the plants are exposed to after
shipping, we must limit our guarantee to
safe arrival only. All claims must be made
within 2 days of receipt of your order. To
file a claim, notify us by phone or in writing
(note your post mark) to receive your return
authorization number. All returns sent to
us are required to have the return authorization
number clearly printed on the outside of
the package. Packages received without the
return authorization number will be refused.
All other claims or disputes will be handled
on a case to case basis. Remember, shipping
and handing charges are a service and are
not refundable.
Address Corrections
Please be sure the shipping address you provide
is correct and deliverable by UPS. If address
corrections are made by UPS they charge us
a fee of $10.00 per package. This fee will
be charged to the customer. Additionally,
please be aware that UPS delivers to addresses,
not people. What this means is that if the
address you provide is valid but not yours,
UPS will not accept responsibility for mis-delivery.
Any fees incurred while correcting these
situations will be charged to the customer.
Delivery Release Limitations
If no one is available to accept delivery
of a package, UPS may, at it's own discretion,
leave a package if they feel the area is
secure. Packages left by the carrier are
left at your risk as we have no control of
the packages under those conditions. We will
not be responsible for any missing or damaged
packages left in this manner. The delivery
date for each package can be determined by
using the tracking information that is automatically
e-mailed to you at the time of shipment.
We recommend you use this information to
be sure someone is available to physically
receive the package. Any packages that are
indicated as being left on a porch or other
outdoor area via the UPS tracking system
will not be covered under our Live Arrival
Guarantee. We want our items to arrive in
good condition just as much as you do so
please assist us by choosing an appropriate
delivery address. Requiring a signature upon
delivery is available for an additional fee
of $1.50. To request this service please
call or e-mail us right after placing your
order. Our live and healthy guarantee will
not be valid beyond the first delivery attempt.
Back Orders
Occasionally, demand for an item will exceed our supply, resulting in items being back ordered. If you would prefer, we can substitute a like item in place of delayed shipment. Just check the box on the order form authorizing us to substitute when
necessary.
Returned Checks
All returned checks will be subject to a
$25.00 service charge.
COD's
Sorry, we do not accept COD payments.
Net Terms, Purchase Orders and Standing Credit
Net terms and standing credit may only be
available to institutions after an initial
prepaid order. Purchase orders are generally
accepted from known institutions such as
universities, museums, zoos, etc. We are
sorry, however, we do not extend credit to
private individuals or small businesses.

| Why do winter frog shipments cost so much
more than summer shipments? All shipments are professionally packed
with many years of experience as well as
top quality methods and supplies. For added
protection of your tropical frogs during
winter months, we spare no expense and take
no short cuts. We use double insulated boxes
in winter time and never place heat packs
within the same container as the frogs. In
order to use 2 insulated boxes with heat
pack(s) in between the boxes, we must use a box that will be
large enough to hold the sensitive shipment
containing the second insulated box in which
the frogs are placed. For this reason, the
use of an extra large outside box will be
over one cubic foot. One cubic foot is the magic number in the overnight shipping industry. If a package is larger than one cubic foot, then the shipper determines the actual shipping cost not only by the weight and zip code destination, but also by the size of the package. For example, our winter frog shipments may only weigh five or six pounds but due to the large size, the shippers will calculate the cost based on a package that would weigh 20 pounds instead. This is called dimensional weight. Although we may not agree with the way the shippers determine their pricing, we will not use smaller boxes with inappropriate insulation to save on shipping costs. Larger boxes with greater insulative value simply offer the most stable means of shipping live tropical frogs during the cold months. Unlike many dealers, we refuse to offer "Cheap" methods of shipping such delicate cargo just to win your business. The savings will just not outweigh the risk! |

Live Animal Shipping & Guarantee
Live animals are shipped via the most reliable
and traceable means only.
UPS Next Day costs between $30-$85 which
includes special packing, inulated box(es)
and heat or cool packs as neccessary.
Delta Dash may be available for actual cost,
boxing fees, and $50 dropoff fee. (Our nearest
airport is Bradley, BDL about 1 hour away.)
Although UPS does not guarantee live delivery,
we will guarantee live arrival with them as long as we can ship during
good weather and as long as the package will
be signed for upon the first delivery attempt.
All claims must be made by phone by calling
us at 800-268-1813 within 1 hour of delivery
confirmation. Leaving a message on our answering
machine within that time frame will serve
as acknowledgement of a potential loss/claim.
Remember, shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Our guarantee states that we we replace
the deceased animal(s) less packing/shipping
fees. Original shipments and subsequent reshipping
are at buyers expense. Alternately, we may
be forced to issue Credit Memo for the actual
cost of the animal if we have none left to
replace it with. ABSOLUTELY NO CASH OR CREDIT
CARD REFUNDS ARE ISSUED IN THE CASE OF LOSS
DURING DELIVERY/TRANSIT. If you do not aggree
with these terms, please do not place your
order with us.
Note: We pack animals carefully into vented
deli cups with some damp sphagnum moss, then
double (or triple) box them using heat or
cold packs if necessary. We pack to the best
of our ability so they arrive as safely as
possible.
Surcharges are fees that may or may not be reflected on the total of our online invoice generated upon checkout. These fees are additional costs that may be added to your invoiced and be billed to your credit card to cover the actual shipping costs. Surcharges are generally small variable fees and do not apply to everyone. Some examples of common surcharges follow:
Winter Shipping Surcharge: A $2 winter packing fee applies to all live plant or insect orders received from mid Novermber through mid April.

Foreign Orders
At this time, we cannot sell live plants,
feeder insects, or frogs to our foreign customers
due to government regulations. This currently
includes Canada. We can, however, ship dry
goods such as driftwood, books, etc. and
no longer require a minimum purchase for
orders. The shipping and handling fees shown
on the chart above and the fees calculated
by our online catalog do not reflect the
actual cost of shipping to locations outside
of the continental United States. Please
call or write in advance letting us know
the specific items you wish to purchase.
You will be quoted each time you order. Additional
restrictions or charges may be required for
those affected by such in the area you live.

Bromeliads by Mail
Most are shipped in spike or in bloom whenever
possible. Some plants or pups are sold somewhat
younger. Approximate sizes of plants shipped
are noted in each description.
Due to the rigors of shipping, they will
be slightly dehydrated when you receive them.
Soak them in lukewarm water for several hours
to rehydrate them. It is amazing how much
better they will look after a good drink!
Neoregelias and cryptanthus are sold as "pups",
or offsets from their parent plant. They
are bare root or may have no visible roots
established yet and should be planted in
a moist, but well drained soil. Plant them
so that the soil is just at the crown of
the plant (the area where the roots meet
the leaves). Keep them from shade of overhead
plants or obstructions and they will soon
establish themselves.
Potted Plants by Mail
We generally ship all potted plants in 2-3"
pots. They are young but established and
tend to ship very well with minimal or no
problems. The plants are carefully wrapped
individually, however, because certain species
of plants may be more delicate, a small amount
of damage during transit may be expected.
Under favorable conditions, all plants sold
will recover from stress related transport.
