Even if the flies survive there is a chance of them becoming sterile due to the high heat. Because of this, please try to plan your needs in advance rather than wait until you are desperate for food. Fruit Fly Feeder Culture (D. hydei)	Product Code: FF-FH Price: Check Latest Drosophila hydei. Larger, winged yet flightless fruit fly about the size of a pinhead cricket. Hydei generally have a slower reproductive cycle compared to melanogaster, however the fly size is larger. Now sold as a large 32 oz. size feeder culture. Produces up to a few thousand flies over a 3-5 week period. Yields may vary and are dependent upon usage, temperature and relative humidity, or other environmental conditions.
