What are your chances of getting a sexed pair of frogs from unsexable froglets?
Since most dart frog froglets and juveniles are non sexable, the outcome it is really a gamble. In the chart below, you can see how your chances are enhanced by purchasing a small group of froglets when compared to purhasing just a pair. We have all been in this position and most experienced frog keepers realize that it is best to play the odds and purchase the most we can afford. The excess frogs are usually quite easy to sell once adult sexable size is attained and you have your pair.
Froglets purchased 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Chances of getting at least one pair 0% 50% 75% 88% 94% 97% 98% 99%

Why do winter frog shipments cost so much more than summer shipments? All shipments are professionally packed with many years of experience as well as top quality methods and supplies. For added protection of your tropical frogs during winter months, we spare no expense and take no short cuts. We use double insulated boxes in winter time and never place heat packs within the same container as the frogs. In order to use 2 insulated boxes with heat pack(s) in between the boxes, we must use a box that will be large enough to hold the sensitive shipment containing the second insulated box in which the frogs are placed. For this reason, the use of an extra large outside box will be over one cubic foot.

One cubic foot is the magic number in the overnight shipping industry. If a package is larger than one cubic foot, then the shipper determines the actual shipping cost not only by the weight and zip code destination, but also by the size of the package. For example, our winter frog shipments may only weigh five or six pounds but due to the large size, the shippers will calculate the cost based on a package that would weigh 20 pounds instead. This is called dimensional weight. Although we may not agree with the way the shippers determine their pricing, we will not use smaller boxes with inappropriate insulation to save on shipping costs. Larger boxes with greater insulative value simply offer the most stable means of shipping live tropical frogs during the cold months. Unlike some dealers, we refuse to offer "Cheap" methods of shipping such delicate cargo just to win your business. The savings will just not outweigh the risk.

Sorry, there is no room for dry goods, plants, or fruitflies to be shipped in same container with live frogs. These items will be shipped separately.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the variables involved, our shopping cart may not add the appropriate frog shipping charges to your invoice when checking out online. We will correct the actual charges using the above chart when we receive your order.
